Drapes

We are the leading supplier of veterinary specific surgical drapes designed by vets for vets. Our extensive range includes standard rectangular fenestrations (for spays/neuters/laparotomies etc), novel diamond-shaped fenestrations (lump removal, large jagged wounds, enucleations, perianal surgery etc) and specific drapes for specific surgeries (eg cruciate drapes).

We can also make up custom drapes for individual needs. All our drapes are made from water-resistant, absorbent fabrics but we can supply cotton drapes if needed.

Our Semi Barrier drape fabric is made from 2 laminates with a water-resistant finish. These fluid-resistant drapes ensure a sterile surgical field with no strike through, the fluid beads and runs off – like a drop of mercury.

Apart from better sterility, this aids in thermoregulation as the patient does not get wet during surgery. The patient is clean & dry at the end of the procedure.

Our Full Barrier drape material is trilaminate, absorbent, breathable and totally impervious. It was originally developed for doing surgery on people with HIV

A chlorine/bleach-free washing powder should be used to ensure the longevity of these drapes (Supplied by LVS in 5kg tubs).

Absorbent Drapes

These are the most commonly used drapes and are some of our best sellers. Semi-barrier fabric is used as the base with an area of absorbent fabric around the fenestration to absorb blood and fluids.

Standard absorbent drape with a small rectangular fenestration.

Our unique diamond shaped fenestrations are ideal for lump removals, peri-anal surgery, enucleation and debriding/suturing ragged wounds. They can also be used for spays. Pricing is the same as for the rectangular fenestrated drapes. Available in blue, green or yellow.

Semi-Barrier Drapes

Our semi-barrier drapes are made from a semi-barrier fabric making them ideal for trolley or table drapes. They can be used for surgery but any fluid will run off.

They are ideal for large animal surgery in the field as blood and fluids will just run off

Specialised Drapes

These exceptional drapes are made from a tri-laminate material and are completely impervious to fluids. They absorb fluid but with NO strike through.

The drapes are ideal for orthopaedic, spinal and horse colic surgery.

Our specialised drapes utilise this full barrier material as a central panel with the fenestration. The remainder of the drape is made from semi-barrier material.

This drape is ideal for stifle surgery but can also be used for any part of the limb. Cover the foot with a sterilised bandage, place in a sterile sock and pull the entire shaved and prepped limb through the fenestration

Cotton Drapes

We custom make a range of cotton drapes to your specifications. Two colours – jade green and light blue cotton are available.

These cotton drapes are priced at the same cost as the semi-barrier drapes.

It is important to remember that once cotton is wet, the sterile field has been compromised.
